At Derham’s Alignment & Auto Repair, every repair we perform is backed by a 12-month / 12,000-mile guarantee covering both parts and labor. If something we fixed fails within that window, bring it back. We make it right — no charge, no argument, no runaround.
That’s the Derham Difference. It’s the commitment we’ve stood behind since we opened in 2006 — and the reason 360+ Wilmington drivers have left us five-star reviews on Google. People remember what happens when a shop does right by them.
Parts. Every part we install is covered for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. If a part fails within that period under normal driving conditions, we replace it at no cost to you.
Labor. If a repair we performed needs to be redone within the guarantee period, you don’t pay labor again. We diagnosed it, we fixed it, we stand behind the work.
All services. The guarantee applies to every repair we do — from brake jobs and engine repairs to alignments, transmission service, battery replacement, suspension work, AC repair, diagnostics, and everything in between. No exclusions on service type.
We’re upfront about this because we believe in transparency, not fine print.
The guarantee covers the specific repair we performed. It does not cover unrelated failures, damage from accidents, modifications made after the repair, or normal wear items used beyond their expected service life. For example, if we replace your front brake pads and six months later a rear wheel bearing fails, that’s a separate issue — not a warranty claim. But if those front pads wear unevenly or make noise within 12 months, that’s on us.
Routine maintenance items like oil changes and inspections are service items, not repairs — they don’t carry a failure-based warranty because there’s nothing to fail. But if we make an error during a service (wrong filter, incorrect fluid, overtorqued drain plug), we fix it immediately at no charge.
The Derham Difference guarantee applies only to parts supplied by Derham’s Alignment & Auto Repair. It is our policy to only install parts that we source, inspect, and can vouch for in terms of quality and authenticity. We do not install customer-supplied parts. This ensures every component meets our standards and allows us to stand behind the complete repair — parts and labor — with full confidence. If we didn’t supply it, we can’t guarantee it.
Because it forces us to do the job right the first time. Every time.
When a shop guarantees its work, every mechanic knows that cutting corners today means doing the job twice tomorrow — on the shop’s dime. That’s the Derham Difference in practice. It means we use quality parts, not the cheapest option. It means we torque to spec, not by feel. It means we test-drive after the repair, not just hand you the keys.
The guarantee protects you, but it also protects our reputation. Nearly 20 years in Wilmington means we see the same families, the same vehicles, the same neighbors year after year. We can’t afford to do bad work — and we don’t want to.
If something we repaired isn’t right, call us at 910-399-4442. Describe what’s happening. We’ll get you in as quickly as possible — usually same day or next day. We’ll inspect the repair, determine if it’s covered, and if it is, we fix it. No paperwork hassle, no approval process, no waiting on a claims department. We handle it ourselves because the guarantee is ours, not a third party’s.
Keep your repair receipt — it documents what was done and starts the 12-month / 12,000-mile clock. If you lose it, don’t worry. We keep records of every service for every vehicle in our system.
A common misconception: you have to take your car to the dealership to keep the manufacturer’s warranty valid. That’s not true. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act — a federal law — prohibits manufacturers from requiring dealership service to maintain warranty coverage. You can have your vehicle serviced at any qualified independent shop, including ours, without voiding your factory warranty.
The only requirement is that the service meets the manufacturer’s specifications and is properly documented. We follow factory-recommended procedures, use OEM-equivalent parts, and document every service in our system. Our local shop vs. dealership guide covers this in detail.
Every repair at Derham’s Alignment & Auto Repair comes with the same guarantee — no matter the size of the job. Oil filter housing gasket or full engine repair. Brake pad swap or complete suspension rebuild. The Derham Difference applies to all of it.

i took my 2004 Camry to diagnose the steering actuating sytem that had holes in dust cover on the knuckle. Derham found 2 hoses from power steering leaking that caused the damage to the dust cover boot. They gave estimate and completed the repair. They also did inspection on vehicle noting some other repairs that may be needed in future. They have the expertise needed to make repairs on front end steering components. I highly recommend them for vehicle repairs.Posted on Google![]()

These guys are my go-to shop. When the BMW repair shop failed to fix this for the third time, I took it to Derhams, who fixed it right. It took a day longer than they estimated because of parts issues, but that's on BMW, not Derham.Posted on Google![]()

Had both of my cars in for service at Derham's Alignment and Auto Repair and each experience was 5 star. I have been using Derham over 9 years and keep returning to them because they do great work at reasonable pricing. Besides doing normal maintenance, they have been very good at identifying issues and suggesting reasonable fixes. Some people are surprised to learn that Derham is much more than just alignment and their auto repair skills are great. The make of the car does not matter. They have helped me with a Honda CRV, a Tesla Model Y, and a Lexus SUV. What keeps me coming back in addition to the other reasons noted above is that I feel they only recommend what is truly needed and do not try to sell you overpriced or unnecessary services as the car dealers in town tend to do.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
