Auto Repair Porters Neck NC — And the Part Most Shops Can’t Do
Porters Neck has grown fast, and a lot of what’s parked in its driveways is recent — vehicles built in the last several years, which means vehicles with cameras and radar built into them.
If your car was made in 2018 or later, it almost certainly has ADAS: lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking. Those systems depend on sensors aimed to a very tight tolerance. Replace a windshield, do an alignment, change ride height with new struts, and that aim moves.
Uncalibrated, the consequences are not subtle. The car can brake late. It can brake for nothing. Lane-keeping can pull toward a line that isn’t where the camera thinks it is.
Most independent shops in this area cannot calibrate these systems. They’ll do the alignment or the glass and send you to a dealer for the rest, which means a second appointment and a second bill. What We Do Most for Porters Neck Drivers

Brake Repair & Replacement — Pads, rotors, calipers and fluid flush. Proximity to the Intracoastal means brake hardware corrodes faster here than inland, so we replace hardware rather than reusing it.
Pre-Purchase Inspection — Buying used? Bring it here first. Engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, cooling, undercarriage, full OBD-II scan including history codes the seller may have cleared, and a road test. Written report, no sales pressure. We don’t sell cars.
NC State Inspections — Licensed safety and emissions station, walk-ins welcome, 20 to 30 minutes. Fail items diagnosed, repaired and re-inspected in the same shop.
We also handle engine repair and diagnostics, oil changes, tires, suspension, transmission, air conditioning, batteries and charging systems, and clutch replacement.

A customer had a windshield replaced elsewhere and was told to take it to the dealer for camera calibration — a separate appointment, weeks out. They brought it here instead and we calibrated it the same day. Uncalibrated, the forward camera was aimed slightly off, which is enough to make automatic emergency braking react late.
